It's
a wrap for the 2008 Polaris Hard to Beat
Summer Series. Erik Wolford, Toughest
Cowboy standout and new PRCA permit holder
walked away with the new Sportsman 500 ATV
in the Bareback Riding. Not quite so
easy for Lyle Welling of Chambers, Nebraska
in the Saddle Bronc Riding. Lyle and
Erik Wolford had been running neck and neck
with only 5 points separating the two at the
final event in Plymouth Meeting,
Pennsylvania at the Liberty Pro Rodeo.
Coming off a nagging shoulder injury, Erik
competed only in the Saddle Bronc Riding to
try to win a second event. A fierce
competitor, Erik gave it his best shot, but
was bucked off in one round of the two go
round event. Lyle covered both and
took home the big prize. Justin
Kennedy, Great Lakes Circuit 2007 champion,
took home the ATV in the Bull Riding after
competing in all Three Hills events.
The competition was intense and Three Hills
and contestants thank Polaris for their
supporting this exciting series.
